DEC Flip Chips are small circuit boards that perform simple generic functions, and can be wired together using standard backplanes to build complex digital systems, from embedded controllers up to general purpose computers.

Flip Chips are approximately 4 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. Each one has 36 connectors, 18 on each side. They were mass produced in the 60s and 70s.
