Due to the large numbers of contradictory reports and rumours in circulation regarding Dr. Lawrence Matthewson's involvement with FELFAT, it has become necessary for us to produce an official statement on this matter.

Dr. Matthewson was one of the founding members of FELFAT, and is unquestionably a brilliant researcher in this field. His groundbreaking work on deep lithosphere anomolies representing evidence for recent global-level engineering remain the basis for all study in this subject, to this day. We must also acknowledge his personal influence in helping FELFAT get past its first stumbling years to become the respected professional organization is has become.

In recent years, Dr. Matthewson has intensely followed a tangental branch of Flat Earth Cosmology that has led to his departure from our ranks.

While we cannot criticize his scientific objectivity, and the legitimacy of studying all possible theories with an open mind, we are unhappy that Dr. Matthewson has seriously neglected his duties within FELFAT to other possible avenues of research, and the reasonable consideration of legitimate papers brought to him for review by his peers.

While no other researcher in the Flat Earth field has taken an interest in Dr. Matthewson's "Iteratively Enlosed Spherical Shell Planets", or "Russian Doll Earth" as it is commonly called, FELFAT does not officially reject it. Our rift came with Dr. Matthewson due to his refusal to consider any theories that did not revolve around his own pet, and arguably esoteric, theory.

We of course continue to wish Dr. Matthewson the best of luck on his own private theoretical persuits, and hope that one day he might return to our group.
